Fugitive Sentenced For Raping, Impregnating Daughter Re-Arrested Three Years After Escape From Benin Prison

In a dramatic turn of events, Jacob Alone, a 58-year-old fugitive who made headlines in 2020 for the heinous crime of raping and impregnating his own daughter, has been apprehended by the Edo State Police Command after his escape from Benin prison during the #EndSARS protest.

PLATFORM TIMES reports that Alone’s dark saga began in 2020 when he was initially arrested for the rape and defilement of his daughter.

Shockingly, the abuse resulted in his daughter’s pregnancy.

Despite the gravity of his crime, Alone managed to evade justice temporarily.

Tragedy struck when, during the course of his trial, the victim, Alone’s daughter, met a fatal fate in a motor accident while en route to court to provide testimony against her assailant.

Despite this heartbreaking setback, justice prevailed, and Alone was sentenced to 21 years imprisonment in Benin City.

However, the wheels of justice were momentarily derailed when the #EndSARS protest engulfed the nation in chaos, culminating in a jailbreak at the facility where Alone was incarcerated.

Seizing the opportunity, Alone made a daring escape, evading capture for three long years.

But fate has caught up with him once again.

PLATFORM TIMES reports that through diligent intelligence gathering, law enforcement authorities managed to track down and apprehend the fugitive, bringing an end to his reign of terror.

The Edo State Police Command spokesperson while commenting on the arrest, stressed the dangerous nature of Alone’s crimes and affirmed the imperative of returning him to custody.

He said “We are returning him to where he belongs because from information gathered about him, he is a very dangerous man to the society,” the spokesperson stated.
