Gunmen Kill 16-Year-Old  Student, Sexually Assault Sister In Enugu   

A  16-year-old student of Nsukka High School, identified as Chikamso has been killed by unknown gunmen .

The gunmen also reportedly  sexually molested his sister.

A video seen  on Tuesday shows the lifeless body of the student lying on the floor with family members crying profusely.

The late Chikamso, who hailed from Ukpata, in the Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State, was reportedly killed while returning to Nsukka, where he was studying.

He  was reportedly with his  younger sister when they were intercepted by the herdsmen who sexually abused her.

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that Chikamso was reportedly shot in the head while trying to stop the assailants from abusing his sister.

Some eye witnesses said  the deceased and his sister were attacked at Ukwuapku between Ukpata and Uvuru communities.

A short statement accompanying the video reads: “This is a young student of Nsukka High School from Ukpata going back to school today (Saturday) and was attacked and killed by Fulani herdsmen at Ukwuapku between Ukpata and Uvuru.”

Meanwhile, PLATFORM TIMES further gathered that the surviving victim is receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Nsukka town.

It was learnt that the police and other security agencies had been notified of the incident.

 Residents described such attacks as a regular occurrence in the agrarian communities of Uzo-Uwani council area, more recently.

It had been  recently reported that armed men suspected to be herders attacked mourners at Ugwuijoro Nimbo and killed four persons.

The spokesperson of the  police command in the state, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, could not be reached as of the time of filing this report.
