The Federal Commissioner representing Ogun State on the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Hon. Akeem Amosun, has been appointed Deputy Director for Ogun Central Senatorial District in the 74-member campaign council mobilising support for the 2027 governorship bid of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.
The appointment places Amosun in a strategic position within the campaign structure as the Yayi political project intensifies its grassroots mobilisation and stakeholder engagement across Ogun Central.
Amosun’s emergence is being viewed by supporters of the campaign as a recognition of his political reach, grassroots mobilisation capacity and sustained involvement in efforts to build support for Adeola’s governorship ambition.
His new responsibility is expected to involve working with party leaders, political stakeholders, coordinators and grassroots supporters across the senatorial district to strengthen the campaign’s structures ahead of the 2027 election.
Amosun has, in recent months, been actively involved in political mobilisation across Ogun State, particularly in Abeokuta South and other parts of Ogun Central, where he has participated in meetings and strategic engagements with coordinators and grassroots supporters.
His activities have focused on expanding the support base for Adeola while maintaining engagement with party members, community leaders, youths and other stakeholders.
The politician’s supporters also point to his grassroots interventions, including empowerment initiatives, educational support and assistance to vulnerable and elderly members of his political family, as part of the activities that have helped deepen his relationship with grassroots supporters.
Rather than limiting his political engagement to major rallies, Amosun has consistently participated in ward-level and community-based meetings, an approach his supporters believe has helped strengthen his grassroots network.
With political activities ahead of the 2027 governorship election gradually gathering momentum, his appointment is expected to add further strength to the mobilisation and coordination machinery of the Yayi campaign in Ogun Central.
The campaign council will be expected to harness its network across the senatorial district as supporters of Adeola seek to build a broad-based political coalition ahead of the governorship contest.
Amosun’s elevation to the campaign council therefore places him among the key figures expected to contribute to the coordination of the Yayi campaign in Ogun Central as the political battle for 2027 takes shape.
