    Kogi Assembly confirms 21 local government secretaries

    The Kogi State House of Assembly on Tuesday screened and confirmed 21 nominees to serve as secretaries of the state’s local government areas.

    The screening and confirmation, conducted at plenary, followed correspondence from chairmen of the 21 local government areas.

    The newly confirmed secretaries are, Umar Muhammed Bako (Kogi/Koton-Karfe) ; Abubakar Danjuma Mohammed (Lokoja) ; Anibasa Ovavi Muhammed (Adavi); Yakini Salihu Abebe (Okene) ; Mrs Yetunde Olaoye Margaret (Ijumu); Momohsani Salami (Ajaokuta); Abdullahi Salihu Ali (Bassa); Friday Fadipe (Ogori/Magongo); Daniel Tope David (Mopamuro); Muhammed Edicha (Igalamela-Odolu).

    Others are, Mrs Grace Paka Ogala (Idah); Salihu Muhammed (Dekina); Ojo Martins Sunday (Kabba/Bunnu); Idoga Moses (Ofu); Joseph Oyibo (Omala); Musa Kareem (Yagba East); Ibrahim Muhammed (Ankpa); Gbenga Enoch (Yagba West); Abraham Mora (Ibaji); Samuel Idenyi (Olamaboro) ; and Lawal Adeiza Ayo (Okehi).




    Responding, the Secretary of Kogi/Koton-Karfe, Umar Muhammed and his Idah counterpart, Mrs. Grace Paka Ogala appealed to the people of their constituencies to give them the needed support to succeed.

    The Speaker, Aliyu Umar Yusuf, commended the lawmakers for the nominees’ successful screening and confirmation.

    Umar congratulated the nominees, urging them to uphold the confidence reposed in them by placing the state’s interest above every other consideration.
