In a recent development, the Yobe State Police has apprehended Adamu Gambo Hudu, a lecturer employed at the State General Hospital in Potiskum, on charges of allegedly raping a female student.
The accused, who also holds a position at Al-Ma’arif, a private college of health sciences in Potiskum where the victim is enrolled, was taken into custody on Wednesday, according to DSP Abdulkarim Dungus, the Command’s public relations officer.
Dungus informed reporters that an in-depth investigation into the alleged rape is currently underway.
He stated, “The suspect is in our custody, facing charges of alleged rape, molestation, and breach of trust. Further investigation is ongoing.”
The incident has raised concerns within the community, emphasizing the importance of addressing such cases to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
