In a bold move to celebrate the legacy of former Oyo State Governor Rashidi Ladoja, Governor Seyi Makinde has unveiled plans to name the ambitious Ibadan Circular Road Project after the esteemed statesman.

This announcement underscores Makinde’s commitment to recognizing and advancing Ladoja’s visionary infrastructure initiatives.

The project, spanning 110 kilometers, was initially conceived during Ladoja’s tenure from 2003 to 2007. Governor Makinde, speaking passionately during a site visit with Ladoja, highlighted the project’s transformative potential for Oyo State.

The tour focused on the advanced progress of the 32.2-kilometer East Wing, linking the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to Badeku Village along the Ibadan-Ife Road.

“This circular road marks a historic milestone as Nigeria’s first motorway,” Governor Makinde proclaimed, emphasizing its pivotal role in alleviating traffic congestion in Ibadan and catalyzing industrial growth across the state.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to completing the initial phase, which also includes a 36.7-kilometer North-East Wing extending to Akinyele Local Government.

Accompanying the dignitaries on this auspicious occasion were Chief Bayo Lawal, Senior Executive Assistant (General Administration) to the governor, and other notable figures.
