Man Allegedly Hangs Himself From Ceiling Fan Inside Apartment In Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the death of Fatai Hamzat, who allegedly hanged himself  on Saturday in the Ijeun Tuntun area of Abeokuta.

PLATFORM TIMES reports that Hamzat was found hanging from a rope tied to a ceiling fan in his apartment on Oremeji Street.

Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident .

She said the deceased was discovered by a neighbor around 7 a.m. on Friday.

According to Odutola, a neighbour noticed Hamzat’s motorcycle parked in the compound and, upon checking on him, found the door locked from the inside.

“After repeated knocking with no response, the neighbours, including one identified as Ogunsola, forced open a window and found Hamzat hanging from the ceiling fan.

Odutola stated that investigations are ongoing, and the body has been taken to a nearby hospital morgue for an autopsy.

“The deceased was found hanging in his apartment after several attempts to reach him failed.

“An investigation into the incident is ongoing,” she said.
