In a tragic incident that has shocked residents of Benin-City, Kelvin Izekor has been apprehended by operatives of the Edo State Police Command for allegedly murdering his wife, Success Izekor, at their residence on Saturday night.

The grim episode unfolded around 10:20 pm at No. 50, Upper Mission Extension, Benin-City, where Kelvin Izekor purportedly inflicted fatal head injuries upon his 38-year-old wife, Success Izekor.

According to reports from the Command’s spokesman, Moses Yamu, police arriving at the scene discovered Mrs. Izekor’s lifeless body in a pool of blood, bearing deep lacerations to her head.

The situation escalated dangerously as an irate mob threatened to administer street justice to Kelvin Izekor before officers from the Aduwawa Division intervened swiftly, averting potential further violence.

“The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital but was tragically pronounced dead upon arrival,” stated Moses Yamu in a press release on Sunday.

Edo State Commissioner of Police, Betty Otimenyin, has expressed deep concern over the rising incidence of domestic violence in the region and assured the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted to ascertain the circumstances surrounding Mrs. Izekor’s untimely death.

“This is a tragic reminder of the urgent need for enhanced measures to address domestic violence and ensure the safety of all residents,” Commissioner Otimenyin emphasized.

Kelvin Izekor remains in police custody pending the outcome of the investigation into this distressing incident that has sent shockwaves through the community.
