Renowned Catholic Priest and founder of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu (AMEN), Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has implored President Bola Tinubu to fulfill his election promises in addressing Nigeria’s growing challenges of insecurity and hardship.
Expressing disappointment in the Tinubu-led administration, Father Mbaka asserted that since assuming office in May of last year, the President has yet to demonstrate the necessary political will to effectively tackle the nation’s problems.
Despite acknowledging the obstacles facing Tinubu, the cleric emphasised the urgency of addressing the prevailing atmosphere of despair.
In a direct message to President Tinubu, Father Mbaka stated, “To fix Nigeria is not difficult if the leader has the willpower.”
He questioned the state of the oil sector, challenging the administration to account for the barrels produced and the dollars in Nigeria’s account.
The clergyman urged action in fixing refineries and called for the dismantling of influential cabals hindering progress in the sector.
Father Mbaka did not shy away from addressing issues in education, highlighting the deplorable conditions of government schools.
He raised concerns about the welfare of teachers and doctors, emphasizing their struggles compared to their foreign counterparts.
The cleric also drew attention to the heartbreak within the police and military ranks, citing inadequate equipment and lack of compensation for families of fallen officers.
The passionate plea extended to the farmers facing threats from armed herdsmen, creating an environment discouraging agricultural productivity.
Father Mbaka warned of impending hunger, urging citizens to be “meaningfully engaged” and take proactive steps to counter economic challenges.
In a final call to action, Father Mbaka urged President Tinubu to wake up to the pressing issues, reminding him that the eyes of the nation, and according to the priest, God, are watching closely.
As Nigerians grapple with these challenges, the cleric’s words resonate with a populace seeking tangible solutions to the pressing issues affecting their lives.
