In a remarkable gesture of commitment to his constituents, Hon. Lukman Olalekan Adeleye, the Minority Leader of the Ogun State House of Assembly, has brought light and hope to the Ikoto Community.
Following a three-year-long struggle without electricity, Adeleye fulfilled his pre-election promise by donating a 500 kVA transformer to the community.
Adeleye emphasized the importance of collectively working to enhance society and meet the needs of the people.
He acknowledged the challenges facing his constituency and pledged to continue serving to the best of his abilities.
“This is in line with my policy of ‘promise made, promise kept’,” he declared, expressing his sorrow over the community’s enduring darkness.
During his campaign, Adeleye vowed to reconnect the community to the national grid if elected, and he has now delivered on that promise at a personal cost exceeding 8 million naira.
“To God be the glory, I have fulfilled that promise with a 500 kVA transformer,” he proudly declared on the occasion of his 100 days in office, coinciding with the birth of Prophet Mohammed (SAW).
The community’s joy was palpable as Chief Olugbenga Adebanjo, the head of Ikoto, and its residents expressed heartfelt appreciation to the legislator.
Despite numerous appeals to the state government and the former legislator, Hon. Atinuke Bello, the community remained in the dark until Adeleye’s intervention.
Notably, Hon. Adeleye has also sponsored life-changing resolutions in the State Assembly and recently empowered 50 young individuals with cash gifts to support their small-scale businesses in celebration of International Youth Day.
