In a significant development in the ongoing case involving singer Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, and Lagos socialite, Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, the Yaba Magistrate’s Court in Lagos State has granted the duo bail in the amount of N20 million.

This decision comes after their arraignment and subsequent remand in custody, along with two others, in connection with the mysterious death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad.

Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun, presiding over the case, announced the bail conditions on Tuesday, marking a turning point in a case that has gripped the nation’s attention.

Naira Marley and Sam Larry were ordered to present three responsible sureties, each.

These sureties would be expected to vouch for their good behaviour throughout the legal proceedings.

Furthermore, as part of the bail conditions, the defendants must surrender their passports, rendering them unable to travel internationally, and are obliged to make weekly appearances at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Lagos.

This measure aims to ensure their availability for questioning and court appearances as the case unfolds.

Magistrate Olatunbosun emphasized the importance of adhering to these bail conditions and warned against any attempts to contact her directly regarding the case.

She stressed that any such communications could be recorded and potentially disclosed during open court proceedings, underscoring the need for a fair and transparent legal process.

The case initially garnered widespread public interest and attention due to the involvement of prominent figures in the Nigerian music and entertainment industry.

The granting of bail represents a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s untimely death, and the next steps in the legal process will be closely monitored by the public.
