The National Examinations Council (NECO) has revised its examination timetable for the 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) External candidates to accommodate the upcoming Ondo State governorship election scheduled for Saturday, November 16, 2024.

NECO made this announcement on its official website, urging candidates to carefully review the updated timetable and check any changes affecting the exams originally slated for that day.

According to the information posted, “the 2024 SSCE External Timetable has been adjusted due to the Ondo Governorship Election on Saturday, 16th November, 2024.”

Candidates are advised to examine the revised timetable, now available online, alongside the original schedule to ensure they are aware of the adjustments made specifically for November 16.

In addition to the revised timetable, NECO reiterated that important registration deadlines remain unchanged.

Standard registration for the SSCE External Examination will close on November 6, 2024, while late registration begins on November 7, attracting an additional fee. Furthermore, walk-in registration, also subject to extra charges, will be open from November 13.

“Examination candidates are advised to act promptly and stay informed to avoid any last-minute inconveniences,” NECO cautioned, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the registration deadlines.

The adjustment comes as NECO seeks to ensure candidates in Ondo State can fully participate in the electoral process without conflict with their examination schedule, reflecting the Council’s commitment to balancing academic requirements with civic responsibilities.
