In a disturbing and shocking incident, Habiba Ibrahim,a newly married woman, allegedly severed her husband’s manhood while he was asleep.

PLATFORM TIMES reports that the  incident has sent shockwaves through the community of Kudan, Kaduna State, where the couple resides.

The victim, 49-year-old Salisu Idris, a motorcycle rider, experienced this horrific attack in the early hours of May 26, shortly after returning from morning prayers.

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that Idris was resting in bed when Habiba, his wife of just four months, allegedly attacked him with a knife.

Neighbours, alarmed by Idris’s anguished screams, quickly came to his aid and managed to transport him to the nearest hospital in Kudan.

From there, he was referred to the General Hospital Makarfi and subsequently to the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital in Zaria.

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that Medical personnel are currently fighting to save Idris’s life and manage his critical injuries.

Idris expressed his confusion and despair over the sudden and violent behaviour of his wife.

“At the moment, I am more concerned about my condition. I am afraid of remarrying because of this incident,” he said.

Idris maintained that there were no signs of marital discord, and he believed they shared a loving relationship.

Rabi Salisu, Idris’s mother, corroborated his sentiments, stating that her son had never mentioned any issues with Habiba.

She added, “Her parents are worried and are willing to settle his medical bills,” highlighting the concern and distress the incident has caused on both sides of the family.

Following the attack, Habiba Ibrahim has been apprehended by the police and is in custody awaiting further investigation.

The motivations behind her alleged actions remain unclear.

Efforts to reach the Kaduna State Police Spokesperson, ASP Mansur Hassan, for an official comment were unsuccessful.

The police have yet to release an official statement detailing their findings or the potential charges Habiba might face.
