The Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP) Ogun State Chapter has finalised plans to host the 10th edition of the Waheed Kadiri Lecture Series next week, Monday.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the lecture is organised in honour of the former president of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners and former Chairman African Planning Association, Alhaj Waheed Kadiri for his contributions to the profession.
PLATFORM TIMES further gathered that the focus of this year’s edition is titled “Town Planners, Sustainable Development, and Nation Building.”
The event is designed to bring together professionals and scholars in the field to deliberate on critical issues shaping urban landscapes.
The lecture, scheduled for the 28th of February 2024, will attract a diverse audience comprising town planners, academics, government officials, and students eager to grasp the nuances of sustainable development in the context of nation-building.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin in Ilorin, Professor Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, will be speaking on the topic.
PLATFORM TIMES further gathered that the guest lecturer will bring forth his expertise and extensive knowledge in law and urban planning, promising an insightful discourse on the intersection of town planning and national development.
The grand event will take place at the Waheed Kadiri House, NITP Ogun, situated at the State Secretariat, Off Moshood Abiola Way, Ijeun Lukosi, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The chosen venue reflects the significance of the occasion, being a hub for professionals committed to shaping the future of urban spaces.
The discourse will cover a range of topics, from urban design principles to the legal frameworks essential for fostering sustainable and inclusive development.
