NPFL: Abia Warriors win away, Niger Tornadoes hold Katsina United
Abia Warriors recorded a 1-0 victory over Bendel Insurance at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City on Saturday.
It was the Umuahia club first-ever win against Bendel Insurance in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.
Sunday Megwo scored the winning goal for the hosts five minutes before the break.
In the day’s other fixture, Katsina United and Niger Tornadoes battled to a 1-1 draw at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium.
Papa Daniel gave Niger Tornadoes the lead four minutes before the break.
Katsina United fought back in the second half with Bello Lukman netting the equaliser in the 54th minute.
Six more matchday nine matches will be played across different venues on Sunday.
