Nasarawa State government has expressed worry over the poor run of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, side, Nasarawa United.

The Deputy Governor of the state, Dr Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe, convened an emergency meeting with key stakeholders of the club following the team’s shocking home loss to Kwara United.

The meeting was held at the temporary office of the Deputy Governor in Lafia.

Dr Akabe said the inconsistency of the Solid Miners in the NPFL particularly the recent home loss was unacceptable.

“This meeting is necessitated by the loss to Kwara United. His Excellency, the Governor and my principal, is very upset about this and has directed me to convene this meeting to find a way through for our Club,” Dr Akabe stated during the meeting.

“The loss and poor run of form by the Club is totally unacceptable, and we must take drastic measures to restore our team’s competitiveness.

“We will work round the clock to ensure that our players and team members receive the best support and resources to excel.”

DAILY POST reports that Nasarawa United have recorded three wins, three draws and five defeats in the NPFL this season.
