    NPFL: Rivers United secure top spot, El-Kanemi win away

    Kabiru Abdullahi scored the decisive goal as Rivers United defeated Lobi Stars 1-0 away in their Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL matchday three encounter on Saturday.

    Abdullahi was on target 11 minutes from time.

    The forward also bagged a brace in Rivers United’s 3-1 home win against Heartland last weekend.

    He has scored three goals in the NPFL this season.




    Rivers United now occupy the top spot on the table with seven points from three games.

    At the Lafia Township Stadium, Nasarawa United fell to a 4-3 defeat to El-kanemi Warriors.

    Anas Yusuf bagged a hat-trick for Nasarawa United while Salihu Nasiru, Umar Al Amin and Bright Etaghara scored for the visitors.
