Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has kicked off a momentous three-day visit to Osun State, affectionately known as the “state of the living spring,” with a grand arrival in Osogbo on Friday.
Accompanied by his wife, Bola, and notable associates Chief Oyewole Fasawe and Olagoke Olubusi, the ex-President’s arrival set the stage for a series of significant engagements.
In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, it was disclosed that Chief Obasanjo touched down on Friday in Osogbo at approximately 5:30 pm, marking the commencement of his much-anticipated visit.
The statement read that his arrival was met with a warm reception at the newly inaugurated Presidential Lounge within the State Government House, where he was greeted by the State Deputy Governor, Mr. Kola Adewusi, alongside several other esteemed government officials.
A highlight of Chief Obasanjo’s itinerary included the auspicious occasion of the formal installation of the governor as the Asiwaju Ede of Ede land, coinciding with the forthcoming birthday celebrations of the State Governor on Monday.
This ceremonial event, slated to take place in the historic town of Ede.
PLATFORM TIMES reports that the state Governor, Ademola Adeleke extended a gracious gesture by hosting the visiting Elder Statesman and his entourage to an exquisite dinner at the state’s newly constructed edifice.
This convivial gathering provided an opportunity for dialogue and camaraderie, symbolizing the spirit of collaboration and mutual respect between Chief Obasanjo and the state leadership.
