The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Ogun State chapter, has conducted its elections, ushering in a new set of executives to guide the association’s endeavors over the next two years.
The election took place at the Simeon Adebo Library on Saturday, showcasing a democratic process that embraced the rich literary spirit of the region.
Dr. Chris Omotosho, a distinguished figure in the literary landscape, secured his position as Chairman, affirming the confidence members have in his leadership.
Chief Abiodun Lasile, the Orunto of Owu Kingdom, emerged as the Vice Chairman, bringing a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the executive team.
The position of General Secretary was entrusted to Mr. Femi Sanyaolu, a notable film maker and freelance journalist, highlighting the diverse talents within the association.
Meanwhile, Mr. Samuel Ogunyinka assumed the role of Treasurer, promising financial prudence and accountability in the management of ANA’s resources.
Notably, Pastor Dare Folarin, a former Chief Press Secretary to Governor Gbenga Daniel, clinched the position of Public Relations Officer.
His background in media relations positions him well to communicate ANA’s initiatives effectively.
The electoral process was orchestrated by a competent committee headed by renowned author Dr. Sola Adetutu.
The committee ensured a transparent and fair election, upholding the principles of democracy and representation.
In his acceptance speech, the re-elected Chairman, Dr. Chris Omotosho, articulated his commitment to revitalizing the Association of Nigerian Authors in Ogun State.
He outlined plans to enhance the literary culture, promote reading, and provide training opportunities for budding writers through robust catch-them-young schemes.
Dr. Omotosho expressed optimism, stating, “You will see a new Ogun ANA!”
