A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, Chief Muraino Banjoko, has pledged ₦40 million to support the electioneering campaign of the party’s House of Representatives candidate for Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Banjoko announced the donation on Tuesday during an APC stakeholders’ meeting held in Agbado, Ifo Local Government Area, as part of Adeleye’s consultation and consolidation tour across the constituency.
The former APC Ogun Central Senatorial aspirant described Adeleye as a committed grassroots politician with a proven record of service, expressing confidence in her ability to provide effective representation at the National Assembly.
He said the party’s candidate had facilitated several developmental projects across the constituency and urged members to close ranks behind all APC candidates ahead of the polls.
According to him, Adeleye’s emergence as the party’s flag bearer was “divinely ordained,” calling on party faithful to intensify mobilisation to ensure victory for the APC in the elections.
Responding, Adeleye thanked party leaders and supporters for their confidence in her candidature, urging members to remain united despite the outcome of the party’s primary election.
She stressed that the success of the APC would depend on collective commitment rather than individual interests.
“The primary election is over. We must now work together as one family because the collective interest of our party is greater than personal ambitions,” she said.
Adeleye also announced a donation of ₦1 million for the renovation of the Agbado and District Multipurpose Hall, describing the facility as significant to her political journey.
She recalled that the hall was where she was first declared the APC candidate for the Ifo II State Constituency seat in 2006.
“It was within this same hall in 2006 that I was first declared the House of Assembly candidate for Ifo II State Constituency. My pledge is my way of preserving a place that occupies a special chapter in my public service journey,” she said.
The APC candidate further urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and encourage eligible voters to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise.
She also called for support for all APC candidates, including President Bola Tinubu, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, Senator Salisu Shuaib, herself for the House of Representatives, and the re-election bid of Ogun State lawmaker, Hon. Fatiu Folawewo Salami.
The stakeholders’ meeting was attended by several party leaders, elected officials, ward executives, support groups and party members, who reaffirmed their commitment to the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
