The Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has described the late Senator Ayodeji Otegbola as a valuable asset to both Ogun West and Ogun State at large.

Speaking during a condolence visit to the Otegbola family in Lagos, the Deputy Governor highlighted the profound impact the late lawmaker made across political, professional, religious, and intellectual spheres.

Engr. Salako-Oyedele, who led a prominent delegation from Ota, noted that Senator Otegbola’s contributions transcended his political career, leaving a lasting legacy that continues to shape the current leadership. She emphasized that the late senator was a source of pride not only to the people of Awori land but also to the entire state of Ogun.

“Senator Otegbola’s influence and legacy are still felt today, and I, as the Deputy Governor, ride on the foundations he helped build. His passing is a loss not only to his family but to all of Ogun State,” Salako-Oyedele remarked.

The Deputy Governor further praised the late Otegbola’s ability to maintain strong ties with his numerous loyalists, both biological and beyond, stressing that despite his departure from active politics, he remained a revered and respected figure until his final days.

While offering her condolences, she prayed for his soul to rest in peace and urged the family to take solace in the impactful life he led.

She also assured them of the state government’s support in ensuring that Senator Otegbola receives a befitting burial.

On behalf of the Otegbola family, Mr. Adewale Otegbola expressed gratitude to the Deputy Governor for her visit, calling it a testament to the high regard in which his late father was held.

He noted that Engr. Salako-Oyedele was the first top government official to visit the family and affirmed their commitment to upholding the values and principles the late senator stood for during his lifetime.

Among the dignitaries accompanying the Deputy Governor were Hon. Tunji Akinosi, member of the House of Representatives for Ado-Odo/Ota; Hon. Wasiu Lawal, Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government; Hon. Mutair Gbadamosi, Leader of the Local Government House; and several other key political figures, including former House of Representatives member, Hon. Jimoh Ojugbele.
