The lawmaker representing Obafemi Owode State Constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly, Soneye Damilola Kayode, has declared his intention to seek a third term in office.
Kayode, popularly known as SDK, made the declaration during a meeting with apex leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.
The lawmaker said his decision to recontest was driven by a desire to sustain what he described as quality representation and continued delivery of democratic dividends to his constituents.
“I am seeking another term to consolidate on the progress we have made and to continue serving the good people of Obafemi Owode with dedication and commitment,” he said.
His declaration was reportedly received with applause from party leaders and stakeholders, who commended his performance and accessibility to the grassroots.
In his remarks, the APC Local Government Chairman praised Kayode for his loyalty to the party and his people-oriented leadership style, describing him as a worthy representative who has strengthened the party’s base in the constituency.
Other party stakeholders at the meeting also expressed confidence in the lawmaker’s leadership, pledging their support for his re-election bid.
The gathering, which drew party faithful and community leaders, was marked by calls for unity and continuity as preparations begin ahead of the next electoral cycle.
Kayode’s visit to the party leadership is seen as a strategic move to consolidate political support and reinforce his influence within the constituency as he seeks another term in the state assembly.
