The Special Adviser and General Manager of the Ogun State Public Works Agency (OGPWA), Engr. Babatunde Adesina, has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to constructing two roads in each of the 20 Local Government Areas in Ogun State.

A statement released by the press officer, Oluwaeeun Craig stated that Adesina said this during a media chat in Abeokuta, emphasizing that the initiative is a priority aimed at ensuring equitable road infrastructure development across the state.

He highlighted that the plan would focus on rapid development, particularly in rural areas, to foster accessibility and uniformity in road infrastructure.

He disclosed that OGPWA operates a structured approach to road management, including seven zonal officers who provide monthly reports on road conditions across the state.

He said  the agency conducts quarterly media tours to assess road situations and gather feedback for prompt action.

Adesina revealed that the agency has completed over 50 road projects in the three senatorial districts of the state.

“The state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has been very swift on road matters. His impressive efforts on Federal and Local Government roads across the state has been ameliorating the challenges that people are facing.

“There are different mechanisms put in place by the Agency across the 20 local governments. We have seven Zonal Officers in Ogun State that give reports on roads related matters on monthly basis, to ensure effective management.

“We also go on media tour every three months to have an update on situation of our roads and feedback gathered will be attended to”, he explained.

He added that some notable roads include Brewery-Ita-Oshin Road, Atan-Lusada Road, Elite-Lantoro Road, Immigration-Prof. Wole Soyinka Road, Ijebu-Epe Road, and Joju Road in Ota, among others.

The agency’s General Manager appealed to the public to remain patient and supportive of the government’s efforts, assuring that road projects would extend to every part of the state.

“As the dry season approaches, the agency will ensure proper maintenance of roads that require attention,” he assured.
