    Ogun’s N1.55tn Budget: Kashamu Assures of Thorough Job By Assembly

    The Minority Whip of the Ogun State House of Assembly,  AbdulRasheed Kashamu, has assured the public of a meticulous review of the N1.05 trillion  budget proposal presented by Governor Dapo Abiodun for the 2025 fiscal year.before the state house of Assembly.

    Kashamu, who is also Nigeria’s youngest lawmaker, pledged that the Assembly would scrutinize the budget to ensure it meets the needs of Ogun State residents.

    Speaking after the governor’s budget presentation on Wednesday, Kashamu reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to upholding its oversight responsibilities while maintaining a collaborative relationship with the executive.

    “The legislature and the executive have always had a good relationship. Now, this is the start of a new season, 2025, and we will do the needful now that the governor has presented the budget,” Kashamu said.

    “On our part, we will go through it and make sure it is beneficial to every citizen of Ogun State. We have been collaborating, and that is the essence of what has happened here.”

    Governor Abiodun’s budget, tagged the “Budget of Hope and Prosperity,” prioritizes infrastructure development, education, health, and economic growth.

    As the budget awaits legislative approval, Kashamu highlighted plans for a budget retreat to analyze the proposal in detail.

    “We will take the budget and look at it thoroughly. We are going to have our budget retreat and do what we need to do before passing it,” Kashamu assured.

    The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Daisi Elemide, had also commended Governor Abiodun for his visionary governance and expressed optimism about the budget’s potential to transform Ogun State.
