The installation of Oba Aminu Joshua Olawale, Adeoriokin I, as the Olu of Idanyin in Ogun State has ushered in a wave of progress and development for the ancient community, with remarkable impact across key sectors including road rehabilitation, education, religion, and health.
Since his official recognition and coronation by the Ogun State Government, Oba Olawale has led an ambitious drive to reposition Idanyin for sustainable development.
His efforts have earned widespread acclaim from indigenes, residents, and well-wishers of the town.
In a recent address, the traditional ruler extended his profound appreciation to the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, and his cabinet for their commitment to infrastructure, particularly the construction of the Atan-Ota to Agbara link road, which connects several towns in the axis and enhances mobility.
Oba Olawale further thanked the state government for recognizing Idanyin with the installation of a Coronet Oba, a move he described as historic and developmental.
He used the opportunity to appeal to the government to expand its developmental reach to other rural towns and villages within the Idanyin axis.
According to him, Idanyin is made up of eight major communities: Rokogotho, Sasato, Migbewhe, Takete, Alathagon, Thevukanme, Saganhezunkanme, and Aladura.
In a bid to support the government’s efforts, the monarch revealed that he had personally overseen the rehabilitation of Idanyin’s main road using laterite materials.
However, he noted that the swampy terrain of the area often washes the road away, urging the government to provide a more lasting solution.
The monarch also called for the reconstruction of the old road linking Idanyin with Alapoti, Ilogbo, and Mowo-Badagry to attract more investors and ease transportation of people and agricultural produce.
Under Oba Olawale’s leadership, notable projects have been executed in the town, including the construction of a block of six classrooms for the Idanyin Primary School, the drilling of boreholes to tackle waterborne diseases, the donation of a mosque for Muslim faithful, and ongoing efforts to improve security across the town.
Currently, a new block of six classrooms for secondary school students, built by the Oba and his team, awaits government takeover to enhance educational standards in the area.
The monarch also appealed for the establishment of a primary healthcare centre and the extension of electricity to Idanyin and its surrounding communities to improve living conditions and spur economic activities.
Oba Olawale reiterated the commitment of the people of Idanyin to cooperate with the state government and support all initiatives aimed at transforming their community into a modern and prosperous town.
