Tragedy struck at Akoko Anglican Grammar School in Ondo State as a Senior Secondary School student, Habib Salau, was reportedly stabbed to death by a female student named Sandra during an altercation outside the school premises.

The incident, which took place after school hours, has sent shockwaves through the Akoko community.

According to eyewitnesses, the confrontation between Habib and Sandra escalated, leading to Sandra stabbing Habib.

Witnesses also claim that Sandra confessed to using a knife allegedly provided by a student from Ajiroke Technical School, raising concerns about external involvement in the fatal encounter.

Following the tragic event, Habib’s body was transported to the Specialist Hospital mortuary in Ikare for an autopsy, as investigations into the incident commenced.

Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Abayomi Oladipo, confirmed the incident and revealed that the case has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

He assured the public that a thorough investigation would be carried out to ensure justice is served.

“We are committed to conducting a diligent investigation to uncover the full details of this case,” Oladipo said.

Efforts to reach the Ondo State Police spokesperson, Odunlami Ibukun, for further details on the investigation proved unsuccessful, as calls and messages from the media were unanswered at the time of reporting.
