The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Osun State Command has reunited two lost children with their parents.

The Command in a statement by its Commandant, Michael Adaralewa on Wednesday revealed that a 12 year old boy was found wandering by NSCDC operatives on patrol on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at around 11pm around LAMECO area, Osogbo.

Adaralewa said the boy ran away from his guardian’s house due to hunger.

“The boy disclosed that the guardian only gives him two square meals a day and he does not get satisfied.

“Upon reuniting him with his guardian, it was revealed that the boy has a high appetite, and no matter the quantity of food given, he remains unsatisfied.”

Adaralewa also disclosed that on Saturday, August 31, 2024, an 8-year-old girl was found wandering at Apara Area, Osunjela, Ilesha Road, Osun state.

“The girl was taken to the nearest NSCDC office by a good Samaritan. She was later reunited with her parents.”

While commending the members of the public for their collaboration, the Osun NSCDC commandant appealed for proactive intelligence to ensure the safety of children, especially during this holiday period.

He also assured that the Command is working with sister agencies to unravel the mystery behind the disappearance of the three children that were kidnapped in August and bring the perpetrators to justice.

DAILY POST recalls that the Osun NSCDC had raised alarm over the growing number of child trafficking within the state.
