Jos Electricity Distribution said the company has refunded N13 billion on electricity tokens to postpaid customers erroneously overbilled between January and September 2023 following an order by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC.
The Disco Head of Corporate Communications, Friday Adakole Elijah disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
According to him, 52,000 electricity customers received the refund.
He urged that customers check through their April 2024 Bills to ascertain the exact amount of money refunded to them individually.
“A total of 219,752,347 kWh were refunded to customers in Benue, Bauchi, Gombe, and Plateau states,” the statement read.
Recall the NERC had threatened to sanction Jos Discos if it failed to refund overbilled electricity customers.
