The Oyo State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the equitable rehabilitation of roads across the state, promising that ongoing road maintenance efforts will extend to all zones.

This assurance was provided by the Chairman of the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA), Mr. Raphael Ogunlade, during an inspection of ongoing road rehabilitation projects on Thursday.

Concerns have mounted among residents in various regions of Oyo, including Oyo, Ogbomosho, and other zones outside Ibadan, over whether the government’s efforts will be evenly distributed.

Responding to these concerns, Mr. Ogunlade emphasized Governor Seyi Makinde’s commitment to ensuring that all zones benefit from the rehabilitation work.

“Governor Makinde has assured Oyo residents that this rehabilitation is not limited to Ibadan,” Ogunlade said.

“The governor reiterated this commitment during the Mobil-Akala road commissioning, stressing that similar rehabilitation will extend to Oyo, Ogbomosho, and other regions.

He has urged residents to remain patient as the administration prioritizes their convenience and infrastructure needs.”

During his inspection, Ogunlade praised Governor Makinde’s vision of a modernized road network for Oyo State, acknowledging the governor’s support of OYSROMA’s efforts to enhance road quality and safety across the state.

According to the OYSROMA Chairman, the current rehabilitation efforts also address recent damages inflicted by heavy rainfall, particularly on bridges, which will be reconstructed under the governor’s directive.

“We are grateful to Governor Makinde for his relentless drive to deliver the best infrastructure across sectors in Oyo State,” Ogunlade added.

“We also appreciate the understanding shown by Oyo residents, and we ask for continued patience as we work to meet every demand concerning the state’s road infrastructure.”

The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, who e-signed the release, reinforced that Governor Makinde’s administration remains committed to fulfilling its promise of transforming Oyo State’s road network, aiming to set a benchmark for road quality nationwide.
