In a significant step toward peace and security in Kano State, a recent development has seen 43 individuals associated with rival thug groups from Goburawa-Gangare and Tudun Fulani Quarters in Ungogo LGA voluntarily surrender to the state’s police command.

This latest surrender brings the total number of repentant thugs in Kano State to an encouraging 143.

Accompanied by community elders who are key stakeholders, these individuals have chosen to leave behind their violent past, marked by over five years of intense rivalry leading to attacks on innocent citizens, loss of lives, injuries, and property damage.

The Kano State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, stated in a press release that these individuals, formerly engaged in violent clashes, have now pledged to collaborate with law enforcement to promote lasting peace and development in the state.

Moreover, the Commissioner of Police issued a stern warning to criminals, reiterating a bounty of N500,000.00 for information leading to the arrest of two notorious criminals, Abba Burakita of Dorayi Quarters, Kano, and Hantar Daba of Kwanar Disu Quarters, Kano.

This offer stands as a testament to the commitment of the police force in maintaining security and order.

Expressing gratitude for the unwavering support of community policing initiatives from the state government, the Commissioner emphasized that the primary objective remains the safety and security of all residents in Kano State.

He extended his appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, for his continued support and called upon everyone to join in the collective effort to restore lasting peace and security for the well-being of the entire state.

The Commissioner of Police also commended the members of the Gobirawa-Gangare and Tudun Fulani community for their role in making this transformation possible.

Finally, he extended heartfelt thanks to the people of the state for their understanding, support, and cooperation in achieving a safer and more peaceful Kano.
