The Delta State Police Command has apprehended five suspects involved in various criminal activities, including kidnapping, robbery, and cultism.

The spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, SP Edafe Bright, disclosed this during the parade.

Bright said the arrests were made following diligent investigations and collaborative efforts between police operatives and the Force Intelligence Unit, Abuja.

One of the notable arrests is that of 20-year-old Yakubu Ya’u, who was identified as the mastermind behind several kidnapping incidents in the Warri axis.

Despite residing in Kaduna, Ya’u frequently targeted unsuspecting residents in Oha and Ughwagba Communities in Okpe LGA, with the intention of demanding ransom.

Thanks to the swift action of the police, Ya’u was apprehended at his hideout in Warri, along with two accomplices, Musa Yakubu and Abdulahi Mohammed.

During the operation, detectives were able to recover two automatic pump action guns, one live cartridge, and a knife, which were hidden and buried in the bush at Ughwagba Community.

This significant breakthrough underscores the commitment of law enforcement to dismantling criminal networks and ensuring justice for victims of crime.

In a separate arrest on May 10, 22-year-old Michael Udo was apprehended by policemen attached to the Ozoro division.

A locally made revolver gun and two live cartridges were seized from his residence, further highlighting the proactive measures taken by the police to rid the community of illegal firearms and prevent further violence.
