The Katsina State Police Command has arrested four individuals, including a suspected terrorism financier, in connection with the supply of military uniforms to armed bandits in the state.
The command spokesperson, Abubakar Sadiq, disclosed this during a briefing at the command headquarters on Monday.
He said the arrests were made during a routine patrol along the Yantumaki and Kankara highway, marking a significant breakthrough in the fight against terrorism and banditry in Katsina.
According to Sadiq, the first suspect, Aminu Hassan, 25, was apprehended on November 19, 2024, in Danmusa Local Government Area of the state.
The suspect, who hails from Dundubus in Danja LGA, was allegedly aiding terrorists operating in Danmusa and its environs.
“Operatives of the command arrested Aminu Hassan during a routine patrol along the Yantumaki and Kankara highway.
He was found in possession of two pairs of military uniforms neatly concealed in a black polythene bag,” Sadiq said.
Further investigations led to the arrest of three additional suspects: Lawal M. Ahmad, 29, and Isma’il Dalhatu, 24, both residents of Basawa quarters in Sabon Gari, Zaria LGA, Kaduna; and Shafi’u Adamu, 28, from Danjaba village in Soba LGA, Kaduna.
