Reps move to clamp down on “one chance operations”, summons Wike
The House of Representatives has launched a probe into the activities of criminal elements running “one chance operations” in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
The House also summoned the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, the Director General of DSS, Adeola Ajayi and the FCT Commissioner of Police, Peter Okpara.
This resolution followed a motion moved by Ismaila Haruna on Tuesday during plenary.
In the motion, Mr Haruna lamented the high level of criminality in the FCT, stating that his aide was recently killed in a “one chance” attack.
He informed his colleagues that his late aide entered a one-chance vehicle around the popular Banex area of Abuja but her body was later found on the roadside around Nicon Hill.
The lawmaker also raised alarm on the level of kidnapping in the capital city.
Mr Wike and the others are to appear before the House Committees on FCT, Police and National Security and Intelligence.
