David Shikfu Parradang, a former Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), tragically passed away in the early hours of Tuesday at Joy House Hotel, Area 3 Junction, Abuja.

Contrary to initial speculations of foul play, the FCT Police Command has issued a statement clarifying the circumstances surrounding his death.

According to Josephine Adeh, spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, Parradang’s body was discovered at approximately 4:00 am on March 4, 2025, within his hotel room.

Initial reports suggesting a violent attack were dispelled by authorities, who confirmed that Parradang had checked into the hotel earlier in the day and had been visited by a female guest.

“Mr. Parradang arrived at Joy House Hotel driving a black Mercedes Benz and checked in around noon, paying N22,000 for a night’s accommodation,” the statement from the police read. “He later instructed the hotel attendant to escort a female visitor to his room. The guest departed the premises at approximately 4:00 PM.”

Concerned for his well-being upon his prolonged absence, a military acquaintance of Parradang’s visited the hotel around 4:00 AM to check on him, only to find him deceased in his room.

The police were promptly alerted, and an investigation commenced to ascertain the circumstances leading to his death.

“The scene was secured, and all necessary forensic procedures were conducted,” the statement continued.

“The body has been transferred to the National Hospital for further examination, and the hotel staff are fully cooperating with law enforcement to aid in the investigation.”

Efforts are currently underway to locate and question the female guest who visited Parradang earlier in the evening.

The police have assured the public of their commitment to uncovering the truth behind this tragic incident.
