Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has issued a clear and uncompromising warning to traditional rulers who support cultism within their domains, emphasizing that they will face indefinite suspension from office.

This strong message was delivered during the inauguration of the Mgbuodohia Internal Roads in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.

Governor Fubara stressed the importance of unity and collaboration in maintaining peace within the state.

He expressed concern that while his administration works tirelessly to protect residents’ lives and property, some traditional rulers are indirectly encouraging youth involvement in cultism.

The governor made it abundantly clear that he will not hesitate to take stern action against any traditional ruler found complicit in such activities, drawing attention to the suspension of Eze Cassidy Ikegbidi, the Eze Igbu Akoh ll in Ahoada East Local Government Area, as a precedent.

He stated, “Everybody needs to come together, work together to sustain peace and respect for this State.

I need to say this, any traditional ruler, be it from my place or elsewhere, who is supporting cultism that is beginning to be a problem in our State, I assure you, as I have started with the traditional stool in Ahoada East Local government, I will come after you.”
