The Conference of State Scout Commissioners of Nigeria has protested the activities of individuals allegedly parading as leaders of the organisation.

The conference during a protest march on Monday, cried out that some people have been parading themselves as leaders of the voluntary association and urged Nigerians not to reckon with them and their activities.

Chairman of the Conference, who also doubles as Oyo State Scout Commissioner, Zack Ekanola, raised the concerns on behalf of the organisation.

Ekanola said the protest held at Oyo State Secretariat, Ibadan, on Monday, noted that the alleged impostors have been moving around states presenting themselves as leaders of the association.

He added that such action is against the law guarding the association.

Ekanola said the World Organisation of Scout Movement instructed the aggrieved faction not to embark on a planned illegal extraordinary AGM.

“We only recognise our leaders, Honourable Dave Awunah as the board chairman and Engineer Babatunde Oyetayo as the elected Chief Commissioner. Any other person parading his or herself as a leader is not recognised.

‘’That is why we are coming together to reject their antics and tactics and their impersonation. It is thuggery and rascality taken too far.

‘’This is the first step we are taking. After this, we are taking a big legal action against all the imposters”.
