Senator Shuaib Salisu, representing Ogun Central at the Senate, demonstrated his commitment to education by distributing essential educational materials to more than 1,000 students across secondary schools in Ogun Central.

The initiative, aimed at fostering academic excellence, saw students receiving school bags, mathematical sets, exercise books, textbooks, and past question books.

Addressing attendees at the empowerment program in Abeokuta, Senator Salisu emphasized the importance of quality education in personal development and nation-building.

Reflecting on his own journey, he underscored that true empowerment lies in initiatives that create lasting impacts beyond immediate distribution of goods.

“We’re not just handing out materials; we’re investing in futures,” Senator Salisu remarked. “Last year, we sponsored over 1,000 candidates with JAMB forms and covered NECO and WAEC registration fees.

Education transformed my life, and I believe in its power to transform others.”

In addition to providing educational resources, the event featured mentorship sessions where students engaged with accomplished individuals who shared their life experiences.

This holistic approach aimed to inspire students not only academically but also to cultivate good character and resilience.

Commending Senator Salisu’s initiative, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, Ogun’s Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, stressed the importance of giving back to society and encouraged students to remain focused on their educational pursuits.

Echoing this sentiment, Mr. Oludaisi Elemide, Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, urged students to make optimal use of the resources provided.

“Your determination and commitment will pave the way for your success,” he affirmed.

Senator Salisu concluded by urging students not to view attending public schools as a limitation but as an opportunity to build networks and alliances that could propel them to future achievements.

PLATFORM TIMES reports that the Senator’s  unwavering commitment to education continues to positively impact the lives of young Nigerians across Ogun Central.
