Atalanta manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, has revealed the reason behind Ademola Lookman’s early substitution against Venezia.
Colombia international, Juan Cuadrado took the place of Lookman after the break.
The winger struggled to make impact in the game before his substitution.
Gasperini stated that the Nigerian showed signs of tiredness.
“He was probably tired too, then there are the games and the needs of the teams. It already happened to us with Como, we would have risked doing the same with Venezia today,” Gasperini said in his post-match interaction with the media.
The 27-year-old has scored twice in five league outings for La Dea this season.
He was named Atalanta’s Player of the Month for September last week.
