Sheath Your Sword, Senate Committee Tells Fubara, Wike

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Privatization and Commercialization, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has made an appeal to Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, to resolve the ongoing political turmoil in the state.

This call for peace was made during the conclusion of the committee’s two-day working visit to Rivers State, where federal projects were inspected.

Senator Kalu emphasised the necessity for both leaders to put aside their differences for the greater good of the people of Rivers State.

He highlighted the disruptive impact of the frequent protests in the state, which have become a significant concern.

Expressing his dissatisfaction, Senator Kalu noted, “The frequent protests in Rivers State are alarming and detrimental to the state’s development.

It is imperative for Governor Fubara and former Governor Wike to work together to bring stability and peace to the region.”

Governor Fubara, in his remarks, voiced his displeasure over the state’s recurrent issues, stating, “Rivers State is constantly being taken for granted.

“We need to address these challenges head-on and work towards a peaceful and prosperous state.”

The Senate committee’s visit aimed to evaluate the progress of federal projects in Rivers State, but the political instability overshadowed the inspections.
