Super Eagles: Sodje tasks NFF to appoint capable assistants for Labbadia

Former Super Eagles defender, Sam Sodje has tasked the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF to employ capable local coaches to support the new handler of the team, Bruno Labbadia.

Labbadia was appointed Super Eagles head coach on Tuesday.

The 58-year-old takes charge of the team from Finidi George, who left the post in June.

The former Bayern Munich forward will be the sixth German to manage the Super Eagles.

Labbadia’s main task will be to qualify the Super Eagles for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Sodje believed appointing quality assistants would make things easy for the new coach.

“The NFF should bring people that know what they are bringing to the table for this man,” Sodje told Brila FM.

“Make sure they are technically sound to be able to contribute to this man’s ideas.”
