A directive for interview dates for successful applicants in the Osun State teachers recruitment exercise has been issued.

This directive was issued by the Osun State Executive Council presided over by Governor Ademola Adeleke.

By the directive, the exercise would come up between Monday, September 9 to Friday, September 13, 2024.

In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi on Wednesday, the Council directed the Ministry of Education to conduct interviews for applicants within the cut off range adopted after the recruitment test.

The statement revealed that the Council gave the directive after receiving updated reports from the Commissioner for Education, Adedipo Eluwole, on the activities leading to this final stage of the exercise.

The statement reads, “The Council while emphasising the need for a meritorious outcome further directed the Ministry of Education to issue a detailed official notice on the interview exercise, listing the dates and venue of the interview exercise.

“The Council noted that the delay in the conclusion of the exercise was due in part to the protracted negotiations on the new minimum wage which has now been concluded and for which the state government has set up an implementation committee for commencement.

“The Council further acknowledged the issuance of letters to teachers on the elongated service programme for which about two thousand beneficiaries have been issued letters of engagement, describing this as part of concerted efforts to bridge the staff shortage within the state school system.”
