    Tinubu Appoints Ribadu As National Security Adviser, Egbetokun As IGP, Others

    President Bola Tinubu has appointed former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission , Nuhu Ribadu as the National Security Adviser .

    The president also on Monday night appointed his former Chief Security Officer, DIG Egbetokun Olukayode as the acting Inspector General of Police.

    While Ribadu takes over from Major-General Babagana Mongunu (rtd) as NSA, Egbetokun is taking over from Usman Baba.

    The President on Monday, retired all Service Chiefs, IGP, advisers and others.

    Tinubu had last week appointed Ribadu as Special Adviser on Security.

    Ribadu was former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

    He exited the Nigeria Police Force as Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police during the Umaru Yar’Adua-led administration.

    Ribadu failed to secure the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 election for Adamawa State.

    He contested the 2011 presidential election on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), one of the legacy parties of the APC.

    The graduate of law turned detective police officer is a close ally of President Tinubu.

    The newly appointed Officers are:

    1 Mallam Nuhu Ribadu National Security Adviser

    2 Maj. Gen. C.G Musa Chief of Defence Staff

    3 Maj. Gen. T. A Lagbaja Chief of Army Staff

    4 Rear Admirral E. A Ogalla Chief of Naval Staff

    5 AVM H.B Abubakar Chief of Air Staff

    6 DIG Kayode Egbetokun Acting Inspector-General of Police

    7 Maj. Gen. EPA Undiandeye Chief of Defense Intelligence
