Tinubu Running Most Corrupt, Intolerant Govt Ever — El-Rufai

A former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has described the President Bola Tinubu-led administration as the “worst” federal government in Nigeria’s history, accusing it of being the most corrupt, intolerant and dishonest since the country’s return to democratic rule in 1999.

El-Rufai made the remarks on Monday night in Katsina while speaking with journalists during a condolence visit to Governor Dikko Radda over the death of his mother.

“This is the worst federal government in Nigerian history and all the indices have shown it,” he said.

“This is the most corrupt and most intolerant government in Nigeria. This is the most lying government that depends on false propaganda.”

The former governor also faulted the administration’s claims of improved security, alleging that the government was peddling falsehoods about the real situation in the country.

“They lied that security has improved in Nigeria. They read out numbers of bandits killed except the ones we know are the leading bandits,” he said.

He cited the continued presence of notorious figures like Dogo Gide, Mallam Abba, and Bello Turji in Kaduna and other parts of the North-West as evidence of persistent insecurity.

“How many local governments are under the occupation of bandits in Katsina State? How many are occupied in Zamfara and some parts of Sokoto?” he queried.

El-Rufai, who is believed to be positioning himself politically ahead of the 2027 general election, said the Social Democratic Party would defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress at the polls.

His comments come days after he joined former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and other politicians in Kaduna on a visit to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari.
