Tinubu to Governors: Let Your Results Silence The Critics

President Bola Tinubu has called on state governors to shun distractions from “armchair critics” and focus on delivering measurable development that improves the lives of Nigerians.

Tinubu made the remark on Friday during the commencement of a two-day working visit to Katsina State, where he commissioned key infrastructure and agricultural projects executed by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda.

“Let the people be at the heart of your programmes,” Tinubu told the gathering. “Your hard work and concrete achievements will answer any criticism. Ignore distractions — your results will speak for you.”

The president commissioned the 24-kilometre Eastern Bypass Road, linking Dutsin-Ma Road to Yandaki in Kaita Local Government Area, as well as the Katsina Agricultural Mechanised Centre—an initiative aimed at bolstering food production and ensuring food security in the state.

Speaking on the nation’s economic trajectory, Tinubu said: “The economy is sailing in the right trajectory. Today, we are seeing an effort to banish hunger and a commitment to food security and the empowerment of our people.”

He identified hunger and poverty as major threats to peace and national stability and urged a return to large-scale agriculture, pledging federal government support in achieving that goal.

According to Tinubu, the Bank of Agriculture is being revitalised to make funding accessible to farmers across all scales.

“The old style of agriculture is gone. We must invest in mechanisation and water management,” he stated.

Commending Governor Radda’s efforts in education, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure, Tinubu said, “In just half of your tenure, you have made remarkable progress. You are a patriot and a progressive mind with honesty.”

He also acknowledged the roles of past governors Ibrahim Shema, Aminu Bello Masari, and Ibrahim Masari in ensuring Radda’s emergence, describing Katsina’s decision to elect him as a “wise choice.”

Addressing troops stationed in the state, Tinubu hailed the military’s courage in combating insecurity and restoring peace, promising continued federal backing in their operations.

Earlier, Governor Radda revealed that the mechanised agriculture centre would serve all 34 LGAs in Katsina and was made possible through a N25 billion federal intervention, with which the state acquired 400 tractors.
