In a resolute address during a meeting with a high-powered delegation from both the APC and PDP, President Bola Tinubu asserted his commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy without offering excuses for any setbacks.

He declared that neither Rivers State nor Nigeria should be associated with poverty, insecurity, or underdevelopment under his leadership, promising a lasting positive transformation.

President Tinubu emphasized the importance of sustainable development, acknowledging the substantial responsibility inherited by the new Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

As a trusted ally, Rivers State would have direct access to his support in their joint pursuit of development.

“We are not meant to be in a position to be poor. We will turn the tide! Somewhere, somehow in this storm, there’s a quiet and peaceful place for us.

We will locate it!” President Tinubu declared passionately. “I am not a President that will give excuses. I will work hard for our nation with purpose, determination, and dedication to create wealth for all Nigerians.

We have no reason to be poor! We will not look back; we will run aggressively forward.”

The President’s address also included a commitment to address critical infrastructure issues, with a focus on the Eleme Junction-Onne axis of the East-West Road.

Regarding infrastructure, President Tinubu acknowledged the advice and support of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, whom he described as not only the Minister but also his trusted adviser.

Addressing the younger generation, President Tinubu urged patience with the government processes, emphasizing his determination to achieve remarkable progress during his tenure.

He concluded with a prayer not to disappoint Nigerians.

In response, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara expressed gratitude on behalf of the delegation, highlighting the belief in fairness, equity, and justice that led the people of Rivers State to vote for President Tinubu.

The Governor praised the President for appointing capable individuals from the state into significant positions within his administration and applauded his success in attracting substantial investment for national projects, particularly in Rivers State.
