Tinubu’s Cabal More Dangerous Than Buhari’s – Ex-Minister Dalung

A former Minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalung, has criticized what he described as the “dangerous cabal” within President Bola Tinubu’s administration, claiming they are more sophisticated than those in former President Muhammadu Buhari’s government.

Speaking during an episode of Seun Okinbaloye’s podcast, Mic On, Dalung alleged that the cabal surrounding Tinubu has entrenched itself deeply within the corridors of power, effectively shielding the president from the realities of the country.

“Tinubu’s cabal is a more sophisticated group of people who have been in power for a long time.

“They know power, they are informed, and so they are more dangerous than any other cabal I have ever known or seen,” Dalung said.

According to him, these power brokers act as gatekeepers, controlling access to the president and obstructing the flow of governance.

He likened their influence to the Buhari administration, where a similar group allegedly prevented vital information from reaching the president.

Dalung recounted an incident during Buhari’s tenure to illustrate his point:“There was a time someone went to see the president to brief him about the situation in the country, and one of the officers asked, ‘What will you be telling the president?’He hesitated, and then he told him, ‘Look, my friend, we can’t allow you to tell the president that. What if he collapses?’ So the man was prevented from telling the president.”

Dalung’s remarks come amid growing debates over Tinubu’s leadership style and his administration’s handling of national challenges.

Critics argue that the president must be more proactive in addressing issues of transparency and inclusiveness within his government.

The presidency is yet to respond to these allegations.
