In a heartbreaking turn of events, Amarachi Ugochukwu, a female banker employed with a new  generation bank in Lagos, has ended her own life, citing work-related challenges.

The distressing incident unfolded within the confines of the bank, where Amarachi reportedly consumed an insecticide unbeknownst to her colleagues.

The tragic episode came to light when a suicide note left by Amarachi revealed the depth of her struggles.

In the note, she expressed the overwhelming pressure of balancing work and personal life, attributing her drastic decision to the difficulties she faced in both spheres.

Amarachi’s poignant words in the suicide note painted a vivid picture of her despair: “Nothing is working in my life. My figures are low. My brain is clogged up. The economy is getting harder. My decisions are wrong. My mind is messed up. The future doesn’t seem bright at all. I see extreme hardship. I can’t bear the pain anymore.”

In a heartfelt plea, Amarachi apologised to her parents and other family members who would bear the emotional weight of her tragic choice.

“I’m sorry mum, I’m sorry dad, I’m sorry Nene, Okwe, Toto, Nazor, Chuchu, Ifunanya. Dear Lord, have mercy on me,” she concluded in the note.

Efforts to reach out to the Lagos State Police for comment on the matter were met with silence, as the Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, did not respond to text messages.
