Transfer: You’ve made mistakes – Matic blames Man United for selling midfielder

Former Manchester United star, Nemanja Matic has told the club that they have made a mistake selling Scottish midfielder, Scott McTominay to Napoli.

DAILY POST reports that McTominay left Manchester United to join the Serie A giants in a £25.7 million deal and signed a four-year deal at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on transfer deadline day.

Matic, a Serbia international, played alongside McTominay for five years at Old Trafford before leaving for AS Roma in July 2022.

According to UtdDistrict, via sportskeeda.com, the veteran Serbian defensive midfielder was asked about the transfer window that ended last night.

The former Chelsea player raised concerns about Manchester United’s decision to sell McTominay.

“My opinion is that [Manchester United] made a mistake by selling Scott McTominay – today, it is difficult to replace a player like him. [Antonio] Conte is [a] smart man.”

The 27-year-old McTominay posted 10 goals and three assists in 43 games across competitions last season including vital late winners against Aston Villa 2-1 and Brentford 2-1.
