The Ogun State Unified Truck Owners and Drivers Association, OGSUTTODA, has dissociated itself from its former chairman, Hon. Donaldson Abiodun Ajayi, saying he ceased to be a member of the association three years ago following his expulsion.
The association made this known in a statement signed by its chairman, Alhaji Isiaka Bamidele Ajetunmibi, amid reports concerning Ajayi’s political activities and his alleged defection from the All Progressives Congress.
Ajetunmibi said Ajayi had been expelled from OGSUTTODA about three years ago and had since ceased to have any official relationship or dealings with the association.
According to him, any political association, affiliation or decision taken by the former chairman is strictly personal and should not be attributed to OGSUTTODA.
The chairman urged members of the public, political organisations and other stakeholders not to associate the association with Ajayi or his political activities.
He said, “Hon. Donaldson Abiodun Ajayi was expelled from OGSUTTODA three years ago and no longer has any dealings or relationship with the association.
“His political association and actions are his personal decisions and have nothing to do with OGSUTTODA.”
The association’s clarification followed Ajayi’s reported decision to leave the APC, with OGSUTTODA stressing that it had no involvement in or connection with the development.
Ajetunmibi further appealed to the public to distinguish between the activities of the expelled former chairman and those of the association, saying OGSUTTODA remained committed to its organisational identity and responsibilities.
The chairman also commended the Ogun State Government under Governor Dapo Abiodun and the APC for what he described as their efforts to rebuild the state through the administration’s “ISEYA” development agenda.
He said OGSUTTODA appreciated the administration’s efforts and remained supportive of initiatives aimed at improving the state.
