The police in Ogun State have made a significant discovery, rescuing two teenagers near the Oru Ijebu riverside where they were abandoned by their abductors.

Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson of the Ogun police command, disclosed that Chindalu Umadi (17 years) and Udeba David (16 years) were found on September 3, approximately at 3:30 pm by police officers from the Oru Division in Ogun State.

The courageous officers successfully rescued the two teenagers while on patrol, bringing an end to their traumatic ordeal.

According to Odutola, the boys had been abducted earlier that day around 8:20 am in Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State by two unidentified individuals who forced them into a Toyota Saloon car.

The victims had no memory of their time in captivity until they were discovered abandoned near the riverside in Oru Ijebu.

The prompt response of the patrol team from Oru Ijebu played a pivotal role in their rescue. Subsequently, the teenagers were taken to the police station for their safety.

During an interview with the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Mathew Ediae, the teenagers revealed that they were on their way to play football when they were forcibly taken.

Odutola further explained that the police had made efforts to contact the parents of the victims.

“The parents, who had been desperately searching for their children throughout the day, received a call from the DPO informing them that the teenagers have been safely located and are in the custody of the police.”

The teenagers will soon be reunited with their families after the necessary identification processes have been completed.
